The Sights of Carnival in Koln – Part 3

Well, here they are.  The last of the pictures from the crazy Carnival festivities in Koln.

So all these porta-shitters were turned so the doors faced inside so no one could use them. Glendo took it upon himself to rotate a porta-shitter so he could get in and take a leak. I like where his head was at, but unfortunately the German police didn't, and tried to turn the porta-shitter back around while Glen was still inside of it. Glen is totally inside that Toi Toi dude is pushing on.

Angerfist. Hard Core. Bitch.

Koln is such a gorgeous backdrop for all crazy shenanigans.

For whatever reason a lot of dudes wanted to kiss Glen. Just sayin'.

Alright, I'm normally all for a passionate kiss in the streets. But come on. That actually looks painful. Maybe he's trying to feed her or something.

I guess LARPing is alive and well in Germany.

I don't care how many times I've seen this place, it's still astonishingly beautiful.

Unreal.

The train station.

And finally, on our way home.

So that was our little adventure to Koln for Carnival.  It was a nice little break from the monotony of power plants and lasers.  Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Also, a big thanks to Maxine, our awesome bartender who was kind enough to be our guide for this trip.  Without her help, I seriously doubt we would’ve made it past the train station.

The Sights of Carnival in Koln – Part 2

A few more images of our Carnival outing to Cologne…

Buch of Jesuses (Jesusi? What's the plural of Jesus??) outside the Dom.

Cute little airdale puppy.

The Jesuses again. They were doing the little human hallway thing and having people run through it.

Somehow, in my drunken revelry I managed to take some of my favorite pictures of the Dom during this little excursion.

I'm pissed about the scaffolding. Someone needs to tell the Germans to stop maintaining this beautiful antiquity so I can get a clean picture. Selfish bastards.

I like this. The girls on the left are looking at pictures they've taken, and in the background someone in a clown costume is getting loaded into an ambulance.

Ok, probably a few too many pictures of the Dom, but I'm ok with that.

Wandering the narrow, cobblestone downtown streets.

Ahh yes, a drunken fight between a dude dressed as a chick and a chick dressed as the devil.

Old people dancing in the street.

And finally, Glendo making more friends. Everyone loves Glen. Also, I'm a fan of the dude with the drawn-on mustache giving me the stink-eye in the background. Not sure what I did to him...

Our day in Koln is winding down.  One last batch of pictures coming soon…

The Sights of Carnival in Koln – Part 1

Here’s just a few of the pictures I took during our little Carnival adventure.

Just outside the train station. Heath Ledger would be proud.

Better than a million people showed up. Quite the little get-together.

So many people.

Anyone up for a quick game of chess on this dude's face?

Human statue street performer in the courtyard out front of the Kolner Dom. This guy has been manning his post every time I've been there.

The Kolner Dom.

Yum. Dirty Harry booze. I wonder if Clint Eastwood gets a cut.

While I was looking through all these pictures I found it really funny how often my eyes and my camera were drawn away from all the crazy up to the Cathedral.

The Germans love those skin-tight Charlie Kelly suits...

About the closest we got to the actual parade.

Glen had the brilliant idea to try to go around the block. I bet it took half an hour to navigate the sea of humanity.

Crazy dude had climbed up onto a utility box. I have no idea how he got up there, or how he got down.

Glen fit in wonderfully. Lookin' sharp in his Kanye glasses and his 2-dollar pimp hat.

That’s all for now, more pictures coming soon.
